Distraction Zone School Challenge
Promoted Safe Driving for a Chance to Win Cash for your School

As a component of the Be Work Zone Alert campaign, the Distraction Zone School Challenge empowered students to create their own on-campus traffic safety events by providing them with a Caltrans safe-driving education workshop and advocacy training, and providing them with the tools, resources and inspiration to create their own safe-driving campaigns.

The competing schools were in the running to win cash grants (provided by iHeart Media) for their schools. The top placing schools implemented fun yet educational activities that highlighted work-zone safety messages, promoted safe driving practices and educated their peers about the dangers of distracted driving such as a safe-driving scavenger hunt, Distraction Zone game tournament, drama skit performance and original rap video.

Congratulations to the winning schools of the 15/16 Distraction Zone School Challenge!
